I love any reason to dress up and celebrate. Valentine’s day is an especially fun reason for me to dress up because I wear more pink and red than my typical neutrals. Also, who doesn’t love a reason to celebrate LOVE!
A little red dress is the first thing most of us think of when looking for valentine’s day fashion pieces. As much as I love simple looks, wearing a simple red dress on valentine’s day can make you blend in the sea of other little red dresses, especially if you’re going out to dinner.
I was thinking about what to wear for valentine’s day dinner that would be unique and still fit my classic style. I came up with 3 tips that will help you update your valentine’s day look from #Basic to #Fab without being over the top. Keep reading to find out what they are.
3 Tips for Styling a Valentine’s Day Dinner Look
1. Find a red dress with chic details
Details make all the difference here! Whether it’s a ruffled shoulder or long bell sleeves, the slightest detail can update your look. You can also try textured fabrics and unique fits! I’ve rounded up a few dresses below with the perfect details for V-day.
2. Add A patterned Accessory
Since red is a bold color most people style it with neutral solid colors. I think it is the perfect backdrop for pairing with patterns! you can add accessories in leopard print. floral print, snake print, heart print… the options are endless. Since snake print is the hot print for 2019, I paired my dress with simple snake print heels. They add a subtle yet unique twist to my overall look.
3. Mix in some Metallic
Nothing makes an outfit shine quite like adding silver and gold. Pick the metal that looks best on you and then adds jewelry and accessories in that tone to your outfit. I styled my look with gold earrings and a fun gold box clutch.
