I have to admit, I was so obsessed with leopard print in high school! Even my senior yearbook page has a hot pink leopard print border. Shortly after I graduated, so many “Jersey” TV shows started airing and showed women wearing leopard print ALL.THE.TIME. So I decided to take a little break from it. However, I couldn’t resit adding it back into my wardrobe this season.
Leopard is a classic print that is always in fashion. I’ve even heard some fashion experts consider leopard as a neutral because it is so easy to match with anything! When wearing leopard there are a few tips to keep in mind to help you stay off the “Real Housewives” end of the fashion spectrum. Here are my top 3 tips.
My Top 3 Style Tips for Wearing Leopard Print
1.Pick a neutral toned pattern
Leopard comes in many colors. My tip for a classic piece that you can mix with anything is to find a print that is made of neutrals. The Jungle Skirt by cabi is made up of black, taupe and cream shades. Sticking to these shades makes it easily match anything else you pair it with.
2. Go for high quality fabrics
I say it all the time, “save on the trends, spend on the classics”. Since leopard is a classic print that can be worn for years to come, it’s best to buy higher quality pieces. This is a print you don’t want to buy at fast fashion stores because it can easily be unflattering. I always get my wardrobe staples from cabi because they are made of high quality fabric that is also somehow more comfortable than yoga pants. It also fits the body really well without needing any tailoring.
3. Pair it with trendy accessories
To make leopard print look updated with the current trends, pair it with a few trendy accessories. Basket bags are a big 2017 trend and since I chose a darker color, it transitions easily to fall. Read my round up of basket bags under $100 HERE. Styling the skirt with strappy heels and a leather jacket gives it a more edgy vibe. This look can easily be worn to work too paired with a longer cami, a classic blazer and sleek pumps.
If skirts aren’t your thing, cabi also has the same print in pants and a blazer that you can find HERE. I definitely need to add these two pieces to my wardrobe too!
